Poulsbo to Host the 2009 Army/Navy Commander’s Cup
Bremerton, WA (November 4, 2009) – The Olympic Peninsula Sports Union officially announced today that the 10th annual Commander’s Cup rugby match against Fort Lewis will kick off at Strawberry Fields in Poulsbo, WA, on November 21 at 3:00 pm (PST). The match will be preceded by a youth intro to rugby workshop that will run from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.
The Commander’s Cup is a once-a-year annual rugby event that pits representative players from Naval Base Kitsap (the “Bangor” Renegades) against players from the Fort Lewis Army Base (Ft. The pre-game youth program is open to all young athletes (ages 14 to 18, male and female) that are interested in a hands-on introduction to the sport of rugby. Registration is at Field #8 at 11 am.
