From the Kitsap Sun:
Navy Rules, Army Drools? Bangor Rugby Team Finally Gets the Better of Fort LewisRead the full article here: http://www.kitsapsun.com/news/2009/nov/21/navy-rugby-commands-cup/
The Bangor Renegades capture a 36-24 Commander’s Cup victory over Fort Lewis.
For the first time the Commander’s Cup belongs to the Navy.
The trophy that has traveled across the Narrows Bridge back to Fort Lewis for the last nine years will stay in Kitsap this time as the Bangor Renegades defeated the Fort Lewis Stud Dawgs, 36-24, in the 10th annual Army-Navy rugby match Saturday at Strawberry Fields....
Congratulations go out to all the players, coaches and supporters. We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone that helped make this event a success.
The players dinner and awards ceremony was held at the Loft in downtown Poulsbo. Here's a rundown of the awards:
Man of the Match / MVP: John Moore
Most Valuable Forward, Navy: Adam Arroyo
Most Valuable Forward, Army: Jim Duffy
Most Valuable Back, Navy: Brian Bruce
Most Valuable Forward, Army: Cliff Moore
PS: I just got word that the match made the front page of the Sunday Kitsap Sun! Way to go, Renegades!
