Last Minute Sponsorship Drive

Hey AlumniFriends of Rugby!  Community business leaders, and supporters of athletes on the on the Kitsap Peninsula:

The Renegades are getting new jerseys for the spring season!  What's left of our current jerseys is in pretty sorry shape so we will be purchasing a whole new set (a minimum of 22 heavy duty jerseys) very soon.  Now is the time to get in contact with us about sponsorship opportunities so that you can get get good placement on these jerseys.

We'll be wearing the jerseys as we compete locally and throughout Washington and Oregon.  We also wear them when we do special events and tournaments.  This is arguably the best exposure we provide, it's good karma for you, and now, with a new season and new youth teams forming, we need the help more than usual.

If you can help us out, or if you're interested in seeing our sponsorship packet, please drop us an email to sponsorship@kitsaprugby.org.

I'll be posting some more info regarding KRFU sponsorships in the coming days.

Renegades -- Spring Training Begins Jan 26th

Time to start getting ready for spring! Our coach will be Coach Schneegas. Coach Shephard will be running the U-19 Girls.

Coach Schneegas asked I communicate the following:

First practice is 26 JAN. That is a team practice. Your teammates expect that you will be fit and ready for that practice. Don't squander the time between now and then -- get fit.
Mark your calendars, get fit, start thinking rugby, and if you can, do some recruiting!

Invictus, Rugby Party, etc. -- DETAILS -- Saturday Dec 12th

We're all going to meet up to go watch Invictus!! -- The new Clint Eastwood film (and likely Oscar candidate) about how Nelson Mandella used Rugby to reconcile South Africa's racial divisions after years of apartheid.

Come join the teams at at the Regal South Sound Cinemas for the 4 pm showing!

After the movie, we're all headed over to MoonDogs Too in Port Orchard for our annual x-mas party. We'll have food there, but feel free to bring any cookies or deserts to share.

Schedule:

3:00 The senior players will meet at MoonDogs Too.

3:30 Deane will meet with the Grenades at the theater.

4: 00 Movie Starts: Movie cost is $7.25 per person -- Everyone is welcome, of course -- you don't need to meet us at the bar.

7-10 Xmas Party upstairs at MoonDogs Too, minors ARE allowed the entire time! Were going to have some pasta (similar to after match socials), we ARE allowed to bring desserts and other goodies to supplement the dinner. There will be various items that we will raffle off at the party!

Dinner cost will be $5 per person (this does not include beer)

For any minors attending the party, we would like parents attending since there will be alcohol for the senior players.

If you haven't already RSVP'ed to Deane or Apricot, please drop an email to info@kitsaprugby.org so that we can get a rough head-count.

INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
- William Ernest Henley
